If you missed this doing the rounds a few weeks ago (sorry to be so slow, Harry!), here's some Bioshock Big Daddy cosplay... and a how-to.
From Volpin Props, this sort of ambition clearly requires some professional skills too:
Finished effort. Love the little sisters.
... building the hand...
... and the body. And there's a ton more. He made blueprints from some detailed artworks published by 2K, which is a really clever thing to do on the publisher's part: encourage crafters, for they will love your work back.
I've been holding off blogging this for a bit mainly because I want to do a bigger post on it later when it's out of beta, but here's a quickie heads-up now.
Smokescreen is live! It's our game about identity, privacy, security and media literacy, designed for younger teens who are using, or about to use, social networks. Designed and developed by Six To Start, it's getting some very, very nice reviews all over the place.
Stalking, phishing, CCTV, fake IDs, scamming, lying and cheating. Identity is such a tricksy thing, these days...
So I'm a fashion major. Graduated in 2007, and just NOW got around to
uploading pics of my stuff! I'm an avid gamer for life. Shooters,
RPGs, PC, nintendo, Xbox... I'll play anything if I can afford it.
I also don't like to take myself too seriously, so I decided that my
senior collection was going to be mario eveningwear. Ya know, lots of
sequins, duchess satin, chiffon, coupled with the crazy icons we know
and love.
AWESOME,
erm not. As admitted inside the magazine - it’s been made with the
wrong sort of plastic so it is impossible to get the ice out. Which i
can confirm. you have to wait for it to melt - and then its useless
anyway.
Sad face. Also, whoever comes up with manufacturing ECO merch is going to be onto a winner. Broken useless plastic junk, uck.
Developed by the team behind the recent original Monkey Island remake, the game sees players going inside the imagination of main star Sofi, who (as is instantly clear via the video above) must be protected, Lemmings style, by dropping randomly generated puzzle pieces on the path in front of her.
I too am scratching my head over Derren B's lottery prediction. Having been to a few of his shows, I'm (of course) loath to believe that he would use technological trickery to do a, uh, trick with. But why not? Haven't magicians always been technological tricksters? It's an emotional thing, wanting to believe he wouldn't. Which is, of course, more power to him, bless his cashmere socks!
And today Matt shows me this. BERG is what was Schulze & Webb, and what is now schulze & webb & armitage & jones & pals, and this is what they've just built, using RFIDs, phones, levers, and just a bit of magic*.
Lastly a disclaimer, I should point out that Derren Brown features quite heavily in an upcoming commission of ours, Science of Scams, and that this is my personal blog and opinions, and that I have no idea whether or not he actually wears cashmere socks, sorry.
