This week is the last week of existence for The Matrix Online, and the gameworld - the Matrix! - is literally disintegrating in front of players' eyes...

The Matrix Online is reminding us all that it's slowing coming undone as the system becomes more and more unstable with each passing day. Ashes raining from the sky, eyes being seen in the clouds, zombies, agents, angels, and demons all appearing out of the system's corruption to wreak havoc across the Mega City.

 

Beautifully done: it's so nice to see an MMO go out with a bang instead of a whimper.

PopCap's Evony ads parody for Plants vs Zombies

Oh this really made me laugh! Evony is a poor-looking free-to-play online game that has been peppering the web for quite a while with some particularly awful adverts - as CrunchGear says, "where breasts trick you into playing a Civ clone". 

This didn't go unnoticed.

And now, Popcap have parodied said awful ads to promote their (wonderful) Plants vs Zombies:

I love these: plus-sized fantasy elf ladies. There should be more "ladies of size" in videogames/comics/fantasy art, and I'm not just talking about Fat Princess!

This <3 is probably due in part to too much Cheech Wizard as a teenager.

Lemmings

Lemmings. Never played it. I know!! It comes up all the time, at conferences, dinner parties, shopping trips.
(I never played Elite either, but that's only because I was playing too much Defender. I know!!1!)

Dan just pointed out that there are a) amigurumi Lemmings (I knew this) and b) you can play Lemmings in your browser. In DHTML, no less.

So now I have played Lemmings (it's hard!).

Off to find some Elite amigurumi and a browser version of that.

I love this so much. I wish L4D did it.

"More than 40 million digital works of art." And that's just from Halo 3. Oof.

For those who are not regular inhabitants of the Halo universe, this is how it works...

1. Using the screenshot functionality built into the Halo 3 game, users capture and create custom screenshot images.
2. These images are then stored, organized and shared in the community file share on bungie.net.
3. You then browse the screenshots on bungie.net and click the "buy print" link to view that image on our product build page.
