The Star Wars MMO, second take. I am so there.
Galaxies failed. It did; even though there are still players in the tens of thousands, that's no Star Wars world, sadly. It definitely had its high moments, though...
So here comes version two, this time from Bioware - they of Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic and Baldur's Gate. For the first time in a long time, something's tingling.
More screens here at Kotaku.
Hollywoodesque "why we're doing it" piece (lots of devs talking, but bits and pieces of ingame footage looking good):
Bioware talks:
Bioware must have a ton of learning from Galaxies - both from SOE contacts, and from LucasArts itself. Then there's World of Warcraft: so much good stuff in there.
Hope, hope...
This actually leaves me quite cold. It's got bugger all to do with Star Wars, apart from lightsabers.

I do believe they will nail it, and I think that they choose this particular time period in Star Wars to get around the whole Jedi thing. Everyone can be a jedi, it will be a class just like any, and in this era not necessarily so powerful.
It's what you said, they can take so many things from WoW, and learn so much from SWG etc, executed correctly this could be gold.
