.. average 17 hours a week of play.
Holy crap. That's a lot.
Among PC game players, World of Warcraft was the clear favourite, with players averaging 1,023 minutes or just over 17 hours per week. The second most popular PC title, The Sims, averaged just under 5 hours per week.
Interesting that the former is sociable/multiplayer, and the latter is not...
I've put in 15-16 hours in Guild Wars over the last 3 days...
That's a bit more than normal for me, though.

I may not play WoW for a week, but when I do get on, I'll end up either getting sick of it and logging in 10 minutes or staying on for hours at a time.

Also interesting that the former contains psychological hooks that encourage you to keep playing, while the latter does not.

Urgh, Runescape. How do people play that rubbish?
An even better question - why do some people PAY to play that rubbish?
