Nevada is covered with large stretches of weird, deformed landscapes that are either mines (or the remains of) or bombing ranges, with some dried lake beds mixed in. Then there's Michael Heizer's huge Land Art pieces, which can be hard to distinguish from the mines and bombing ranges...
