Voice recog is a holy grail for me. I love the idea of being able to narrate IMs or emails.. but it seems that happy future is still a way off. Chortle.

A coworker of mine used it after breaking his arm (not ms's, he was using Dragon), and I was pretty amazed at how well he had it working.

That is hilarious - reminds me of some of the irritating things my sister used to do when we were little - repeating what I was saying then annoyingly saying things like "Say hello sue".

When he started off by saying "We're going to do a Perl script..." I thought- wow, how ambitious, the voice recognition must be really good. 40 seconds later I had tears of laughter running down my cheeks. I don't know how much of that was "real"- there was such perfect comedic timing, but darn funny either way. ( If it was real, the computer has a sense of humor.)
