I've never actually seen Little Britain. Curiously, it's a BBC show but there's no mention of the Beeb anywhere in the press release, so I'm going to guess that LB is produced by an indie who retained the videogame rights.
It's a pretty weird choice for a videogame, it being comedy: is this the first in a new genre of Comedy games?
Little Britain: The Video Game is a fun collection of mini-games presented in the style of an episode from the TV show. To win, players must work their way through a series of specially created sketches that feature plenty of scripted input from Matt Lucas and David Walliams themselves, until the credits roll at the end. As you’d expect, Tom Baker narrates throughout so fans of the series can enjoy a truly authentic Little Britain experience.
Charles Cecil is at the helm, which is reassuring. He did Broken Sword. Also, the graphics don't look half bad at all:
Recognisably Vicky, that.
Yeah.. but... no... b..
actually, no, i can't even bring myself to quote the catchphrases... this will either be the most amazing supprise of a game, or the biggest pile of poop since the word "merchandising" was invented
My 2p is on my latter.

How odd. I never would have imagined a game based on LB. From what little I've seen of the show (I never found it particularly compelling, myself), it seems to be based on a set of reoccurring characters who are humorously premised, rather than on anything they do. So there isn't anything in the show to inform the gameplay, but I suppose the game would be populated by familiar characters. Seems a bit thin.
[I'm still waiting for the video game version of Ingmar Bergman's "Persona." The game would be set up exactly the same way, only you'd pick a character and then spend the rest of the game not sure which one you are.]

The game plays like absolute shit you know. There's really no redeeming features. In fact, what makes it more annoying is that the characters keep spouting their catchphrases and there's only a very limited range of samples used. Gets RIGHT on your nerves.
"Yeh, Ah know..."

Horrible show. So horrible, I felt compelled to note it in a comment.

Sounds quite similar to the Viz game from 1991. Particularly with that screenshot...

i remember the Viz game!!
Odd cos i was only 9 in 1991....

A game based on Peep Show would be good, it being all first-person and everything.

Hmm, the show looks like a cross between Kids in the Hall and a French Canadian show called Les Bougon:

Whatever it is, I'm sure the game is just grabbing a popular license and throwing some overdone game themes around it. (see the recent screenshots on the Jackass game, for example)

Seems I wasn't alone in remembering the Viz game, then... god knows how awful a LB game would be. I can hardly contemplate the terror.

Muzzi, you're a friggin idiot. You must know next to nothing about videogames in the early 90's: ever heard about a little something called the Super NES? Super Metroid, Super Mario World, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy III, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG; get a bloody grip, you moron.

none of those games were based on tv shows now were they?
is a crap game based on lb better than no game based on lb?
if anything, compare this to the family guy game.

The game's nice, but that's that. It was hilarious when I played with some friends of mine (all fans of LB) after a few beers.
But when you don't like or don't even know the show (and/or are sober) then the game's rubbish. I think ;)
