Warren Ellis spotted this lady in Second Life, minutes after a system crash & restore. Her eyes - custom scripted objects, of course - are showing a SL error message.
He calls her The Girl with Error Message Eyes.
Poetry! William Gibson, are you listening?
This was very common and happened a lot on Thursday after the update. Almost everyone i know had to re-bake thier avi's textures manually because their face and eyes had been replaced with the "Missing Image" texture.
This lead me to state "Lindens stole my face!", which then got repeated around the Emerce event ad nausium lol
Linden staff were walking around head to toe in white missing images and some people reported packet losses between 170 - 420%. Which is amazing cos it's not possible. lol.
And i thought they said that the "previous versions of the Matrix were 'too perfect'..."

Oh man, that reminds me of the Corinthian from Neil Gaiman's Sandman stories. Frightful.

Suddenly I realize that Gibson cyberspace is a reality... and it's wonderfully imaginative avatars too.
