It was a funny old show this year.
The business day was hopelessly devoid of anything interesting beyond the keynote, which put everyone to sleep anyway. There was much generalised griping. There were overheating Playstation 3s (but at least there were Playstation 3s). There was no Wii to speak of (gripe!). Microsoft was placed in the crappier hall, miles away from the giant Sony booth. Side-by-side would have been far more fun.
But there was Bastard!! Online to giggle at, and a gorgeous, gorgeous looking Devil May Cry 4, and Mrs God of War and my interest bells clanging over at the Trusty Bell xbox 360 stand. It'll need a rename, of course, but an open-play, exploratory adventure RPG with elements of Legend of Zelda to it? I'm so there.
Don't miss Kotaku's on-the-spot polling of gameshow attendees. The boys managed to find some prime specimens there, alright; Twitch Lady was about to punch one of them out, by the looks of it. And while the poll says the PS3 is going to sell OK (at least in Japan), we may be being had: Rod here spotted that Kutaragi more or less broke out his Playstation 2 launch speech from 6 years ago, and gave it to us again.
Naughty man. If only he could break out prices from 6 years ago too.
