Remember a while back when Marvel sued Cryptic for alleged infringement of copyright, because Cryptic featured superheroes in their City of Heroes MMO?
How about this: 18 months later and in a perfect hatred-to-lurve switcheroo, Marvel have now teamed up with Cryptic to produce a massively multiplayer superhero MMO baby for PC and Xbox 360. There's a rom-com in that, I swear.
The game, tentatively titled Marvel Universe Online will release for both the Xbox 360 and the PC platform and is expected to take advantage of Microsoft's Live Anywhere infrastructure.

...sez 1Up, reporting from X06 in Barthelona.
1Up goes on to worry about how users will input text for chat purposes with no keyboard, and whether we'll be able to streamline the UI like we currently can in World of Warcraft. This game is unlikely to see the light of day for at least three years, and I'm guessing they'll have bigger things to worry about by then, like how to manage RealFace customisation, or how many user-generated voice mods can be uploaded for LiveVoice modulation, or how to map spellcasts to gestural movements for the Xbox 360 DigiFingaz wireless glove controllers...
Yay, the future!
And, slowly, the procession of MMOs to the 360 begins. Looking forward to this lots - great to see Marvel + Cryptic teaming up.
Re: entering text; USB! FFXI on the 360 lets you use a normal £5 USB keyboard to type (and it's pretty essential for the game). But: 360 has pervasive voice anyway.
X06 was pretty impressive, I thought - in a similar C&D angle, Halo Wars at least gives *some* justification to MS C&Ding the Generals mod.
All about GH2 for 360 and BioShock, for me, though... (oh, and the forthcoming Live Arcade stuff).
