Craftzine has a howto up for a knitted Princess Leia hairdo cap-wig-thing. Leia's buns are - I think - actually not heidi-cinnamon buns, but weird flattened rolls, the likes of which I've tried to imitate a bunch of times and failed miserably, being a curly bonce as well as a bad hairdresser.
Ha well. Knitted buns it is, then.
Ha! The perfect thing to wear to the store when I buy Lego Star Wars 2. I best get knitting!

That woman seems remarkably confident and relaxed wearing a knitted version of a hairdo that didn't make any sense when it *was* hair.

Best part of the pattern is that you can choose your color and texture - want hot pink Leia buns? Done! Extremely fuzzy buns? Alright! One blue, one yellow, with a purple scalp? No problem!
Oooh.. I wonder how the buns would roll up with some variegated rainbow yarn?
This could get frightening.
