Broken Sword: The Angel of Death goes on sale tomorrow at a sensibly pleasant price of 18 quid. I never managed to play any of the Broken Sword series, but I'll certainly be picking up a copy of BS:AoD. From the press release:
The original game in the series remains one of the most memorable games of the decade. Offering a cerebral challenge rather than requiring manual dexterity, Broken Sword won a wide range of passionate fans; almost uniquely to video games, a high proportion of them being women. Indeed, it is scheduled to be celebrated as one of the 50 best videogames ever written, in a book From Pong to Oblivion - The Greatest Video Games of All Time to be published by Headline on October 23rd 2006.
Charles Cecil, the creator of the series, notes that Broken Sword is:
"... a reminder of how games needn’t pander to the lowest common denominator, and that there is demand for intelligent, tightly-paced, narrative-driven games."
Any game brave enough to cast portly nuns and skinny male leads has clearly got something to say. I'm in.
I love the Broken Sword series, but the only one I've managed to finish was "Sleeping Dragon" on the PS2.
I've just bought a SuperCard specifically for the purpose of getting the first two running on the DS under ScummVM.

Although, having said that, it isn't listed on the ScummVM DS compatibility page, so I may be forced to track down a GBA version.

I loved Broken Swords I and II, and have BS1 on the GBA if you want to borrow it, Lee. Not sure my computer's up to anything more modern than those two, though; that 3D looks a bit too complicated for it...

I am not fond of "All Time" lists. What about future games? Time hasn't frozen or ended yet!
