I was just considering one of these next, after having had a Richly Varied Weekend In Rome. But now I can just go there virtually: someone has actually spent money making a virtual Capri onto which you can point and click your mouse and .. er, nose about:
The player acts as a tourist visiting the wonderful Capri Island (Italy) and discovers the amazing landscapes typical of this island. But this eagerly awaited holiday take soon an unexpected turn ... When the main character arrives in front of his residence, he is sucked by a mysterious vortex... As soon as the fear pass he finds himself in front of the residence again and everything seem to be normal, but… obviously this is not true! Capri Island, that was in the past full of tourists and life, is now transformed in an almost desert place full of mysterious events... What has happened after the vortex?
Well clearly Engrish has become the primary language of Italy.
Going straight-to-download, A Quiet Weekend In Capri costs $20, but wait - this website has nothing but great things to say about it. Including nods from the WashPo and Time mag, if you believe the source. "Like Myst, but real!"
Anyone played it?
You can click the link to see the Time reference, so it's definitely a legitimate source. Don't be so quick to judge, especially when the evidence is only a click away. The same might hold for the game?

I was withholding judgement - did it come across as otherwise? I do think this is an amazing idea, and certainly the reviews are all good. Perhaps 20 bucks is a little steep, but I'm interested to hear if anyone's come across this before..
