I'm not making this up. "My Bare Lady" is an actual show, coming to a stage near you soon...! Hopefully it'll live up to its name, which is quite frankly genius.

I'm in Vienna to do a talk tonight, in the coolest games shop. It has tons of game&watches, and I'm trying to resist splurging, but I may fail.

Yahoo! Go: free PC PVR

Yahoo muscles in with a free-to-use PC PVR: hook up your PC to your TV and the software'll record what you want...

(This doesn't help people like me who have the PC in the bedroom and the TV in the sitting room and no cable to stretch upstairs. I bought a Freeview card, and an antenna, but I can't get either to work. Very, very boring.)

Either way, it's US-only and Windows-only, which smacks of irritating DRM. No mention of how long you're allowed to keep your recordings, or whether they do any of those experience-shattering auto-deletes. Anyone used it?

I've been looking for a poster from Playstation, many years ago, that featured pierced nipples (the rings are in the Playstation symbol shapes). I think it's this one, but I can only find it at this size so it's hard to tell.

Don't suppose any of you resourceful bunch either remember the ad I'm talking about (my brain seems to remember a close-up) or has a copy?

For the record, I need a Wii

You know what, I think it's a fantastic name. It's girly, metro, slinky, inoffensive, funny, cute, KAWAIIII, and it's got people really talking. Ninty'll hoover up all those folk who have been previously offended, bored or turned off by videogames' sometime sweaty machismo, anyone who owns an iPod, and anyone who thinks Skype is a perfectly viable brand name.

Genius.

Revolution becomes Wii

It must be a day for makeovers and reinvention, 'cos the Revolution's dropped its codename at last, and become the Wii.

Good old family-friendly Ninty! A name that's making everyone laugh so, so much can only herald an age of fun for the console, no? Still, I'm already up to my eyeballs in puerile urine jokes, so please, no more.

Like Longhorn, Marathon bars and Opal Fruits, I'll always think of it as the Revolution. What happened to the days when codenames were internal-only? Letting the world latch on to them causes the blogosphere to go crazy when they change.

Playstation.com (Europe, anyway) has had a facelift. It's nice! It's friendly! It's gender inclusive!

Holy cow, did I miss some juicy happenings while away, or what?

Peter Molyneux gets bought by Microsoft. Massive Inc also gets bought by Microsoft. I say.

EA chaps claim games are as valid as TV and movies: quite right, to some audiences, though not as broadly valid as TV and movies. Yet.

MTV buys up X-Fire: the giant gaming IM goes to MTV. Curious! For a wallop-load of cash, too.

Mutants sign up for X-Men game (cor I'm looking forward to that movie, total sucker for comic conversions):

"When you plan on producing a game that features characters that the fans have come to know well in film, one of the things you must address is having your audience perceive your characters as 'genuine,'" said Activision executive producer Scott Bandy. "One of the best ways to ensure this is to work with the same talent that has brought the character to life in the films."
