MyMMOG

What would MySpace crossed with a MMOG look like? Questing while blogging? Guildchat crossed with IM? Levelling up by .. friends accumulation (urgh)?

Maybe it's the other way round. Bring social networking elements into MMOGs (I mean, it's obvious, isn't it?): SMS direct to avatar inboxes. Import music. Friends-of-friends name colours. Automatic upload of screenshot snapshots. User-generated artifacts, like the Black String Society's piece of black string...

WoW is a social fad like MySpace is a social fad. Both will be replaced sooner or later with the next social fad, and I'm wondering if it might take the best of both worlds...

Bunchball

Bunchball is a lovely idea: flash games that you can embed into your own site or blog, and play with your buddies, visitors, or just passing pigs. Design issues and the usual bugs or whatnot associated with a beta are being ironed out, and at the moment grabbing a game is entirely free.

The same tech also runs your music out, and even pictures out. It's like a mini content jukebox!

One to rummage in, it's a very cute idea...

4D Magic Cube puzzle

Alice popped this over last night, and it's  a mind-boggler: If you can do the classic Rubik's Cube in your sleep, or maybe solve one in each hand simultaneously, perhaps you'd like a new challenge? Get a load of Magic Cube 4D!

It's extremely hard to solve from a full scramble and not many people have managed it, but if you've done the original Cube you've got the skills you need, and can build on them by starting with just one random scramble. If you're not sure your brain will bend around it, try the web-based applet - it lets you twist and spin the puzzle around without downloading anything.

New PSP adverts on the London tube

OK, help. I don't get it:

It feels a bit .. well, sexist and even racist to me, but I'm sure I'll be accused of overreacting or something. But really. What the hell does this advert mean!?

UPDATE 1: The camera icon is the clue. Sony is saying that PSP-owners have white girlfriends who do amateur pics? Wow.

UPDATE 2: Kotaku also picking up on this, also puzzled.

UPDATE 3: Suggestion to Sony: "your partner's naughty bits" would cover off everyone's skin colour, sexual preference, gender and even laywers. It doesn't take much thought to be inclusive, but it does take a bit of care.
