If you've got nothing to do on February 22nd, you could do worse than heading down to the very grim O'Neill's in Kings X to listen to a nice man from SCEE London explain how the PS3 works, and how to develop for it. I'm not sure if you have to be an IGDA member to turn up - I'm guessing you do - but anyway basic membership is free. Ish. Membership itself is hardly expensive, either.
Might be interesting:
This technical presentation introduces PLAYSTATION 3, the new state-of-the-art entertainment platform from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. The presentation will provide an overview of the system architecture including the Cell processor and the new graphics processor (RSX) along with the Blu-ray storage medium. It will also include information about the new development tools and is aimed to give developers an insight into PLAYSTATION 3 title development.

Newcomers are welcome to turn up on the night, and the dates will be posted on the forums.
...from my limited experience, you don't have to be a member to attend the London events; they might ask for your email address or something (but even then they never tried to get me to join!)

Hi all! You don't need to be a member to come along on the night so feel free to attend if you like. Regarding IGDA membership, there is a freeuser membership which is, funnily enough, free. The student membership is only around £17.00 per year with full membership being not much more than that.
