Aside from the obvious point about all these things being negotiable, it also doesn't account for a lot of increasingly popular models.

e.g. I know of several devs who have VCs and/or pubs investing in deals where the game project is set up as a special purpose vehicle (an LLC), then IP is jointly owned and can succeed or fail without the pub or VC having ownership over the dev. I think this is how a lot of movie projects are set up as well. part of setting up that special purpose vehicle is defining who has what share of the IP, who has creative control, who's contributing what share of the go-to-market costs and what take of the revenue they get, etc.
