Sometimes this blogging lark has major merits; look what I just got in the email (did the previous post ping it, or something?! Talk about coincidental):
Wahoo! Melee weapon training?
Course, this is where everyone gets to see how completely crap I am at playing Special Infected. Survivors, on the other hand...
Talking of which, has anyone noticed the similarities in the characters to actors? Think there's a Left 4 Dead movie in the works, starring (on the left) Patrick Dempsey?

This kind of thing doesn't usually bother me hugely (cos I is a man and am insensitive to such issues) but why does the sequel not have a cast more like three women and one man?

Well that would be AWESOME. An all-girl or nearly all-girl shooter?
Sounds like a L4D mod to me!
I guess, in practice, they're being representational of FPS audiences, currently probably only 15%-20% female at best (altho depending on how you define shooter). But bearing in mind chaps don't mind playing female characters, the more-ladies aspect probably wouldn't have done them much harm.
I wonder if anyone in the UK does L4D mods to commission...

I'm playing L4D2 on Tuesday at the EGExpo and jolly well can't wait!

I've just pre-loaded it from Steam - have an Idle Thumbs thing planned for the evening to run through the demo on PC. Very excited - it may be my lack of imagination, but L4D has been my most consistently fun game of the year. Really hoping the sequel keeps balance.
(Also, E. got me the awesome L4D mobile you mentioned in your Interesting lecture for my birthday. As soon as we've moved, it's going up over my desk.)
