Duels dot com has completely passed me by: I'd not heard of it until I read on Techcrunch that it has over a million duels happening a day. That's pretty nuts. It's been live a mere few months; it's asychronous duelling; and of course, you can spend real cash on upgrading your gear.
It's got all the hallmarks of something that will spread fast: simple concept, free to play, no specific tech required, and - heh - it's got a Facebook app as well:
Duels is a Player vs. Player (PVP) Strategy Game:
- Advance your duelist by battling others in the arena.
- Collect and trade thousands of items.
- Customize your avatar's appearance and attributes.
- FREE to play!
- No download required.
Talk about by-the-numbers. One to check out.

A couple of guys at work play this during the day (despite the fact that if they're caught they'll be disciplined). The game itself appears to be very average, brings nothing new or interesting to the table. Still, they enjoy it.
It reminds me of Planetarion in a way I suppose.

Now, thank you!
Thanks to this post all of my coworkers (myself included) are playing this instead of getting some work done.
Aaah, well... Hehe.
