Heh, I found this out via Acid for Blood, and it's made me grin as I sit here in my pjs with insomnia at 5am (don't believe the posting time from Typepad, I'm in Japan): Wonderland has been nominated for Best Non-Commercial Website or Blog in the MCV Games Media Awards. Aww. Rah!
Thanks!
The event's getting some heat, as journos resist being praised by the industry they report on. Also, as Brin points out, four of the sites in that category of Best Non-Commercial Website or Blog all carry adverts. I've talked about why Wonderland has googleads on it before; I like her suggestion, however, Indie or somesuch would probably have been more appropriate, and accurate.
Cosying up with me are:
- GameOver, Yeah
- The IdleThumbs pirates
- Destructoid
- .. and the super naughty UK:R.
I hope they're washed, or there'll be trouble.
Lastly, I've been out of Britain too long: from this list, I realise The Indie has a lady games journo, and she's been nominated, too (woot). I've been meaning to subscribe to an actual newspaper on my return - like books, the artifact is fun - along with stocking up on real chunky marmalade after a year of this shite. Sunday breakfasts are looking good.

Yaaarh! Congratulations!!! =)

Woo UK:R!
Errrr... I mean, best of luck with this. Hope you win.

I'm not, I genuinely wish you the best of luck.
It's just I like UK:R a lot too :-)

I think Wonderland is by far the best of those nominated. Because it's the only one I've come across. Now I've got some links however, I'll go off, have a look at the others and then let you know if this site's dropped in my estimation... :-)

Gaaah, the pressure :) (But thanks for the compliment, heh)

Best of luck to you from the chaps at Game Over, Yeah! (We've only just found out ourselves!)
You definately stand more of a chance than us! To be honest i think UK:R has the biggest fanbase and Gary Cutlack knows a lot of people in the industry who just happen to be voting.... DOH
In all fairness though he deserves it. We just don't want Destructoid to win, they're like the Junk Mail of the Videogaming internet!
