Uhoh, Bioshock!
Hah. I got the last one in the shop.
The shop-chap pointed out that the Bioshock license only allows two installs, before you have to ring up and get another license key. That's not very pretty; I'll be installing this on my home beast when I get back, as well as on my laptop, and if either need a reinstall in the near future (which they will), I'll be having to wrangle with 2K games' helpline.
Not looking forward to that - I'm still trying to convince ridiculous Adobe to unlock my CS2, even while they can see I have the registration key in my name (something to do with where my account is registered; I gave up asking, for now).
Meanwhile, if going to a shop is too oldschool for you, and Steam is clogged, you could always try SkyGames.com for your digital download: 5 quid off apparently, and a free teeshirt to boot. Not bad at all...

Actually, they just bumped that to five machines you can install on and it can be re-installed five times on each machine, so don't sweat it. The DRM protection isn't as bad as all the screaming and hollering online is making it out to be.

Oh that's good news! Thanks Dave.

Yeah, as soon as someone mentions DRM the ignorant masses are up in arms about it. It's really not as bad as they make out.
Still, potential pain in the arse.
I got Bioshock on the 360 yesterday. Loving it lots!

You're going to enjoy it. I'm having quite a bit of fun with it. I can already see that it's going to have some replay value for me.

If Adobe are being that ridiculous, why not join the rest of us and get a 'special' copy?

Got it from Steam yesterday - it is quite lickable.

Good news indeed. However, there was nothing ignorant about the outcry. Plenty of people were being fucked over by the activation server and installation limit.
Why Securom is there at all is an absolute mystery. It's a con, a useless product that's done sod all to prevent bioshock being torrented, while getting in the way of a lot of fans.
The changes 2K have made were in response to the resultant stink, not out of infinite wisdom, benevolence, or insight :) It's great to see them actually respond.

What *is* annoying is that even though it needs to be activated online you still need to put the DVD in the drive to play. Very silly!

The thing I hate about DRM & Internet activation:
What happens in 10+ years when you've upgraded your machine 5 times and there *is* no 2K Games helpline? We should be getting to the point where we respect games enough to make them timeless.
