Metaversum's Twinity

(Twinity? Weminds me of the pwiest in Pwincess Bwide. Mawwidge!)

Twinity is the new virtual world from Metaversum, progress on which has been quiet but steady.

Metaversum’s second product, the virtual world Twinity, will be launched soon. Twinity is a virtual world that is closely entangled with the real world. Twinity will enhance your real life instead of helping you escape from it.

Interesting way to differentiate themselves, that. Raises one's eyebrow. Meanwhile, Metaversed has some actual info on Twinity (Metaversum's site has almost none): in short, Twinity is heavily currency/economy-based. Avatars will get their own apartments. They'll be able to create, but not using in-world tools (uhoh), and all creations must be approved before a sale can take place, for copyright-infringment-fear reasons.

Which is idiotic, of course, they can't premoderate sales unless they were to only happen in very tiny numbers, which is presumbably counter to the business growth plan. They could have a go, if they had unlimited cheap labour (and lots of money to pay them) skilled in recognising every possible copyrighted entity.

What's wrong with the current cease-and-desist-on-discovery system? I can't see that rule lasting long if they have any form of success.
