Gameboy iPod case
Another etsy find, and this one make me snort with laughter. It's so brilliantly impractical, I love it:
the vintage GameBoy iPod case - and the controls work too! With a remote!

Lots of work went into this:

Works with a nano, too, and the last sentence cracked me up:
The front buttons are wired into a remote control so you can change the song and the volume with the case screwed closed. It has been tested to work with an original ipod mini and also a nano.
Got questions? I made it, so maybe I can answer them!

Wow. Just... wow.

That poor Gameboy, being sullied by the presence of an ipod inside of it!

It is 100 percent impractical, that's what made me interested in making it...
Not as nice as the iboy that was the inspiration for it, but not too bad.
Thanks for the mention.

If you had one iPod which you only used in your car it would actually be pretty cool. Still, I think we should make these gaming-themed iPod cases progressively *more* impractical, just to keep people on their toes. XBOX 360 as an iPod case. A Commodore 64 as an iPod case. Possibilities are endless.

That's a cool way of bringing your old and beat up gameboy back to life. ^_^

We are not worthy.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having a Nano?

i see that these are sold out. are you making any more?!

Is there any way to charge the ipod without taking the case apart to unplug the port?

It would be a good idea to place a PS3 inside the gamegoy instead of a nano ipod, ok? this thing that you invented it just doesn't make any sense at all, is silly and innocuous. Ah, and is useless too, If U dont want your gameboy better give it away to somebody, ok??

@Jay
"it just doesn't make any sense at all, is silly and innocuous"
You should probably learn what big words mean before you use them because you definitely didn't mean innocuous. Innocuous means harmless or benign.
I think it's a hilarious idea. Yes to all you idiots it is bigger than an ipod which makes a nano pointless, but that doesn't stop it from being fun and novel.

That thing is hot. Don't listen to the haters. Truly creative.

Better idea: figure out how to install RockBox on a Game Boy cartridge and use that as a digital audio player. EH?

What a loser!!! no need to do this..
you wasted your life on such a thing!!HA
Posted by: Singh | December 08, 2008 at 02:14
I laughed at it, but it is wonderful in its own way. It's just funny because it's a Nano, and a Classic would have made a lot more sense.. even so, that old gameboy was fat.

"What a loser!!! no need to do this..

So she/he's a loser for being inventive, but you, going around on the Internet looking to insult people; what are you?
Also I don't think it took a lifetime to make, so chances are he/she hasn't his/her entire life.

Pretty neat mod for your iPod. A Gameboy case disguises the iPod and the controls on the Gameboy work.
