DS video hack

My flickr buddy Gwire (who I think is Lee) chucks this up:

Met up with Nick and Dom for coffee today and got a sneak preview of the DS video player that Dom's hacking on. It uses an asymetric wavelet based codec specifically designed for playing back on the DS's ARM-based hardware, and while it works best with cartoons it can also handle normal video of, um, "YouTube" quality.

Dom's also working on live streaming over wifi, apparently. Very nice. Carry on.
