Hanakotoba doll speaks for plants
This product is misleading and ever so slightly patronising (its creator, who also devised "translators" for pets, comments "I was searching for a similar success among females, and
since women love flowers, I decided to work on them"). It is also damnably cute.
What it actually does is reward you with a semi-random doll remark when you touch your plant. Kawaii, but nil points for sensible plant care. In my house, if you can't keep your hands off the plants, you land in Time Out.
Would it work on cacti? That'd be funny. "BLEED, MEATBAG!"

I like it. Reminds me, weirdly, of the fairy in Zelda, whose name escapes me momentarily. Tinkle?

Reminds me of Pinocchio. Looking more closely at the Japanese website, he also looks like he just sat on something sharp.

In a way, yes. The little fairy sits on top of a sensor rod that can detect a lack of moisture in the soil. If you talk to the plant when it's too dry, the doll will remind you rather rudely to water it.
