Yes, though a provisional date of June was let slip a little while back - the 6th to be precise... but hastily pulled down again. I do hope it's sooner than that - but realistically, with the Gates of Ahn Q taking a month of farming, then the instance itself needs some mastering, June's probably about right...
Draeni seem to be the favourite to be the Alliance race too - shame...

Not started Guild Wars yet then Alice? ;)

I'll probably hit 60 just as Gates of Ahn Q open, which will be nice :)
(level 55 and climbing!)

One of the Horde guilds (mooo!) has hit one of the 'big' enemies on the way through the Gate quest - and are now asking for cross-faction assistance to complete. Apparently they've tried with 40 man+ and can't get past it - and they're a full on MC/BWL guild.

Mphmp. Too excited to follow links! Ok, kidding, but the dates on all the articles on that page are from Oct 2005, so I didn't realize there was anything updated there. Silly me, I didn't click the media link on the sidebar. Found it and thanks!

Mathew - there are similar crystals all over WoW - Arathi for instance, Blasted Lands, and certainly in Dire Maul - the levitating pylon crystals spring to mind...
I think it's a pretty common theme across all fantasy nad has been for a very long time...

I can't begin to describe how unexcited I am by all this. WoW has been a real turn-off for me since I hit my late 50s and everything became "spend 3-6 hours in a raid farming an instance so a couple of lucky people can get uber gear".
I mean seriously, 57 levels of really successful soloing, interesting stories, and constant discovery and now the only thing to do is pretend like raiding the same zones over and over is fun. Making the raids bigger and harder is not a solution to the game's diminishing appeal.

I lost my taste for WoW at level 51, despite a very brief flurry of enthusiasm this Christmas after playing Warcraft 3 (which does have the epic, world-changing storyline that WoW inherently lacks).
Most of the people I know who still play didn't bother with the 'end-game' and started again levelling up alt characters.
To me the expansion looks to offer a bigger world to play in, but the same old things to do in it. There aren't even new classes to spice up the perennial over-powered/over-nerfed arguments.

Actually - I'm currently at level 32 with a different race and class, and finding a lot of quests I didn't do with my first character - including instances I didn't even know existed! Shadowfang Keep was a complete surprise to me - I played 9 months and didn't even know it was there...
I think Wow can be a game where there's as much to do as you want there to be...
