Talking of The Movies, some french have made some political protest movies already - apparently they're rather good; I haven't checked it out yet as the work firewall is barfing. If you have a look, let me know what you think.

I was exaggerating, I actually have to wait till I get home to check it out, cos the pink pocket plaything is at home.

Whuh? you don't take It to work? Turns my 45 min train journey into 10 mins.
And that prolly wasn't the best way to describe your pink DS lol :D

I thought it was rather good ;)
Got left at home today purely because Advance Wars last map is driving me nuts, and I'm reading Cherie Priest's rather fabulous book. DS may rest awhile.

Waitaminute...is this movie suggesting that there is racial intolerance in Europe?! Goshwow, I thought only AMERICANS could be racists!

MK:DS is owning my spare time. It feels a lot like MK:Advance but I prefer the tracks. Some really far out stuff. Waluigi's track is awesome fun.
It feels a bit more hardcore though. the 100cc class can be really harsh. One stuff up and you end up so far behind it takes the rest of the game to get in the lead. A bit frustrating, but on balance makes a greater sense of accomplishment when you win.
Just wish they would get rid of the blue shell. I bloody hate loosing at the last moment coz of that thing. It's too random.
"Waitaminute...is this movie suggesting that there is racial intolerance in Europe?! Goshwow, I thought only AMERICANS could be racists!"
*sigh* You say this because you are feeling defensive about the whole issue of racism. Perhaps you might want to spend some time thinking about the issue instead of being a flippant wee-dork.

"Feeling defensive"? Is it wrong to defend oneself against unwarranted charges? While individual Americans might still be racists, we got rid of our institutionalized racism decades ago, but it's apparently alive and well in France. And yet I constantly get all sorts of uninformed vitriol on IRC from Europeans who apparently think we Americans still own slaves.
Now, I'm not making light of what is happening in France. I feel no schadenfreude about the riots. But I cannot help but notice the irony.

Ever since you first posted about The Movies I've been anxiously awaiting it's arrival in stores in Bangkok (yes, they have genuine games stores in Thailand).

The blue shell is particularly poorly concieved powerup as it doesn't even confer much benefit on the person who uses it as they're pretty much always in last place. I really can't see the rationale behind it's inclusion when there's allready so much stuff to ensure a tightly bunched race. grrr.

Let me know if your impression of "The Movies" is any better than mine:
