Mario Kart revisited
Stone me, I played a lot of Mario Kart. Every lunch hour at work with the devs. At home. At friends' dinner parties. SO MUCH MARIO (well, Bowser actually, I like the way he bounces)! And now it's back. Back! Back with multiplayer, free worldwide multiplayer. Greg over at grauniad gamesblog says it's not only easy to get up and running, but almost life-changing.
I played Advance Wars: Dual Strike multiplayer at the weekend, and it was a totally different game. Suddenly really tough! Climax's game-designer Max beat me.
I think he cheated.

Too damn right!
I started off with Wario (in MK64) and graduated to Bowser. He's immense! Supah sliding powar! Everyone goes for nippy little Toad, but we know that top speed wins out in the end. Anyway, we can always barge them out of the way.
Underused characters unite!

I have to admit to never, ever playing Mario Kart...
Does this mean I have to stop using my 'Uber-geek' title...?

Alice, What version did you play? I take It wasn't 'Double-dash' with Waluigi :P
I started on the SNES and was crap! However my game picked up considerable on MK64 but dropped somewhat on MKDD (Still trying to finish 100cc Star cup)
Im hoping MKDS won't be too much like SNES MK :S

MK64 it was. The cart's still in the console, although it's dusty and unplugged.
WS - you missed out :) Mind you, I've never played Metroid Prime, Super Monkey Ball or Half Life, so there you go.

WS can redeem his/herself by picking up MKDS :P
HL must be played though, Although I only got round to it when it was released on PS2
(I had to see what the fuss was all about + crowbar)
Metroid Prime took a long while to grow on me before I could enjoy it fully, Won't ever top Super Metroid though.
I can't wait to pick MKDS up :)

I've bought 2 Nintendo DS's for my two girls, (one pink, one blue.) And the pink ones are nearly impossible to get...
Anyway. I've spent every evening after they go to bed, getting the little pink and blue things out and playing with my wifey...
This game looks really good....
Is this a version that only requires you to buy one copy, and you WiFi a "demo" version for full 2 player funness...?

For full on multiplayer you're going to need two copies of MarioKart.
You can play multiplayer on one kart(sorry)and two DS's but you can't choose your character (shyguy only) and I believe the number of tracks are limited.
Seems a lil mean from Ninty, But I guess that's their way of making more sales.
