"HiroProtagonist".
Ho ho! It couldn't be more apt!
It is a world where the Mafia controls pizza delivery, the United States exists as a patchwork of corporate-franchise city states, and the Internet--incarnate as the Metaverse--looks something like last year's hype would lead you to believe it should. Enter Hiro Protagonist--hacker, samurai swordsman and pizza-delivery driver.
Yup, that's him.
Also, sounds like he's really obsessed with Snow Crash. This is good news! To think Neal Stephenson was writing Microsoft's future strategy when he wrote that lovely book.
Truth really is crazier than fiction...

You gotta respect the guy's taste, that book was loads of fun!
Btw, does anyone remember Wild Palms? The image of Robert Loggia making those pig sounds still haunts me to this day.

honestly, the prospect Microsoft dominating a fledgling metaverse gives me the creeps.
Insane_Cobra: Wow, Wild Palms. That really takes me back :)

You guys seem like the kind of place that would be keeping an eye on eBay's XB360 craziness, maybe. I felt like sharing this little gem: http://cgi.ebay.com/Microsoft-Xbox-360-PLATINUM-Package-W-Bonus_W0QQitemZ8235999391QQcategoryZ62054QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
$5100 for one platinum system, one copy of need for speed and a guarantee that it will ship "within the next two weeks".
Can anyone beat that?

That book is awesome! I wonder what it would be like if Microsoft delivered pizza...

The bikes would crash.

looking at his picture, I'd expect his gamertag to be "Young Uncle Fester."
I really think him copping that name is perhaps a leetle bit pretentious?
