Les Seules go Big Brother
This made me choke on my cornflakes - Les Seules (to date, very cool Swedish Counter-Strike clan who happen to be all girls) seem to have signed up to become reality-doc test subjects:
With more girl power than the Spice Girls, combined with all the competitive attitude of professional athletes, the Swedish gaming-stars will embark on a journey that will see them bring the action packed world of professional video gaming to the television screen!
Oh good lord. It gets worse too:
In an all out gaming tour that visits a different major city each week, the girls plan to take aim at the best MALE & FEMALE gamers in the world! However, in their quest for success, the girls will discover early on that there are other games to play!
From the very outset, the girls will have to navigate a minefield of not only intense gaming & promotional spin, but also fierce rivalries, double-crossing players and competing egos as everyone battles it out to be the best! Play US will turn out to be THE game that tests the girls’ nerves and friendships to the max as personal ambitions conflict with team goals.
Err. That'll be heavily scripted then. And then, and then -
Can the girls deal with the realities of life as professional gaming superstars? Or will they end up being played?
ROFL. Omg, someone shoot the copywriter.
Still it's worth remembering that these are real players, and hopefully they'll make what sounds like a diabolically naff treatment into a watchable TV show, just by being themselves - if the makers play out on the 'rock stars of gaming' angle, this could single-handedly do the games industry the biggest favour ever. Assuming those set-ups aren't too stupid, mind.
(Thanks Jack!)

There's just something about Videogames + glamour that makes me feel like retching..

Isn't that Girls Aloud in the pic?
Actually, that I'd watch.

If anybody has Counter-Strike 1.6, you can download some demos of Les Seules playing at the recent ESWC 2005. They were orginally going to be in Dallas for the CPL to compete against males, but they went for the ESWC female tournament instead apparently.

Perhaps too much media for this team, so their results are down ...

If the same guys who penned the treatment, also came up with with the rock stars twist - that could do gaming a big favour - then this is something to laugh about - all the way to the bank
