SpyToy

Hmm. This is a tricky one. So Sony are releasing a new title called SpyToy - less of a game, more of a Thing That Does Lots Of Stuff. Useful as burglar-monitoring..  but also essentially secret surveillance, so all sorts of possible privacy issues.

Still, I can also see this being fun for people wanting to video themselves, say for something like Video Nation, without needing lots of expensive kit. Great for videochat (won't work on phones, will work on the telly, won't it? Weird that).

Videoblogging - will Sony begin to offer that for young 'uns?

Interesting.

We at Video Nation :-) are always thinking of ways to engage more of our audience without frightening those with the best stories with new bits of kit. There have been ideas bandied around about giving people the opportunity to submit a 'Video Nation' piece using the interactive phone booths that BT have and also using their own kit, be it a camcorder or webcam.
You are right that the immeadiacy of recording your story on your PC's webcam would make great viewing and would hark back more to the original vision of Video Nation where the contributor built up a relationship with their camera and was able to confide in it at any point. Maybe there is mileage in that idea!!
Has anyone blogged using their webcam instead of writing text entries?
